Recap: Chiles Timberwolves vs. Leon Lions

The third road contest was the charm for the Chiles Timberwolves, as they earned their first road win of the season. They strolled past Leon with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 46-31. That's another feather in the cap for Chiles, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

It was another big night for Faith Durden, who scored 15 points. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Lainey Crisafulli was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordae Nance, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Nance. The team also got some help courtesy of Aneila Pierre, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Leon were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Chiles' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Leon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chiles will take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. Leon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rutherford at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. The timing is sure in Rutherford's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Leon has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
