Recap: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Elizabeth Cardinals
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Moffat County Bulldogs walked away with it. They came out on top against Elizabeth by a score of 31-21 on Saturday. The win was nothing new for Moffat County as they're now sitting on five straight.
Among those leading the charge was Evan Beaver, who threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Kenny Frederickson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Elizabeth still got an impressive performance from Cooper Connelley, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Connelley was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.
Moffat County's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Elizabeth, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 8-2.
Moffat County will be playing in front of their home fans against Berthoud at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Berthoud is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Elizabeth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
