Football Game Preview: Stafford Spartans vs. Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns

The Stafford Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stafford has given up an average of 28.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Stafford is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Calhoun on Friday. They came up short against the Sandcrabs, falling 32-8.

Stafford might have lost, but man, Aiden Seales was a machine: he picked up 103 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 72 yards on only nine carries. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 63 yards.

Meanwhile, Hamshire-Fannett suffered their biggest defeat since September 6, 2024 on Friday. They were beaten by Almeta Crawford 63-21. The loss was the Longhorns' first of the season.

Although Hamshire-Fannett took the loss, they still got scores from Jess Folsom, Dwayne Long, and Pierce Pirtle.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hamshire-Fannett fell to 3-1. As for Stafford, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Stafford suffered a grim 34-14 defeat to Hamshire-Fannett when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
