Basketball Game Preview: Deltona Wolves vs. DeLand Bulldogs

The Deltona Wolves and the DeLand Bulldogs will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deltona is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.

Deltona lost 76-53 to Pine Ridge on Friday.

Despite the loss, Deltona got top-tier performance from Marcus Spells, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Spells continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Al Pena, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, DeLand unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took an 82-68 bruising from Spruce Creek. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (56), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Deltona's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for DeLand, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Deltona came out on top in a nail-biter against DeLand in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 53-50. Will Deltona repeat their success, or does DeLand have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
