Baseball Recap: Marion Takes Down Ranked Benton

Marion faced Benton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Wolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Bobcats. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Marion pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Benton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-5.
