West Central put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the South Newton Rebels, posting a 52-6 win. The Trojans pushed the score to 52-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rebels cut but never quite recovered from.

Drea Villarreal continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 90 yards and four scores, while also picking up 33 receiving yards. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Connor Huber was another key player, throwing for 121 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something West Central proved: they limited South Newton to a paltry -0.1 yards per carry. While three picked up at least six total tackles, Villarreal stood above the rest. He rushed for 90 yards and four TDs, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. West Central didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.

West Central's defense didn't let Lyle Harrington, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Landon Hughes was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. West Central received some extra help from Ezra Rodriguez, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

West Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for South Newton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

West Central has already played their next contest, a 72-14 win against Faith Christian on the 3rd. As for South Newton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-14 victory against North White on the 4th.
