Recap: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. Wardlaw Academy Patriots
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Holly Hill Academy Raiders had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 57-28 victory over Wardlaw Academy. The win was familiar territory for Holly Hill Academy who now have ten in a row.
Tyree James continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 220 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Ashton Soles was another key contributor, rushing for 22 yards and a touchdown.
Holly Hill Academy pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Wardlaw Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Holly Hill Academy will face off against Jefferson Davis Academy at TBD on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Jefferson Davis Academy is ranked second, while Holly Hill Academy is ranked first). Wardlaw Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
