            Softball Recap: Leechburg Blue Devils vs. Valley Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            Leechburg gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Monday. They put the hurt on the Valley Vikings with a sharp  14-6 victory. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 Addie Zanotto made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 13 batters over  6.2 innings while giving up  six earned runs off   five  hits. Zanotto was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing  Three bases. while  getting on base  in two of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Ava Ferretti was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Emily Talarico, who  scored a  run and  stole  Five bases. while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leechburg will face off against Springdale at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Valley, they will take on Shady Side Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
