Volleyball Recap: Musselman Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Musselman had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Bianca Hutzler did her part to make it six on Tuesday. The Applemen won by a set and slipped past the Martinsburg Bulldogs 3-2 for which the team can thank Hutzler, who had 26 assists and 13 digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last three times she's played.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-104) Musselman actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Leading Musselman to victory were Gracie Ganse and Alycia Miller. Ganse had 11 digs, while Miller had 31 digs and four aces. Those 11 digs gave Ganse a new career-high.

Musselman's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Martinsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Musselman will face off against Riverside at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday. As for Martinsburg, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Hedgesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
