Ford is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Thursday. After each having a week off, they and the Wills Point Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Wills Point will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Ford extended their winning streak to five last Friday. Ford took their matchup with ease, bagging a 63-18 win over North Lamar. Ford's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Devon Williams, who rushed for 165 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, and also picked up 68 receiving yards and one score. Those 165 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Wallen, who rushed for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 447 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Ford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Tyler Andrews.
Wills Point never got on the board in their matchup back in September, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Life Waxahachie last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 35-7. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.
A big part of Wills Point's win came down to the chemistry between TANNER MADDOX and his top target BRIAN MARTINEZ. MADDOX rushed for 85 yards and one score on only 11 carries while MARTINEZ rushed for 88 yards and a pair of TDs.
Ford's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Wills Point, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. Ford has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 395.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wills Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 170.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Ford took their victory against Wills Point in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 28-5 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
