Basketball Recap: Pinole Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against San Lorenzo

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinole Valley). They secured a 71-65 W over the San Lorenzo Grizzlies on Monday. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 55-53 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Jaylin Reed, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, he also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ahmari Otis, who went 5 for 9 en route to 16 points.

Pinole Valley's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for San Lorenzo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Pinole Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinole Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for San Lorenzo, they will host Hayward at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hayward will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something San Lorenzo surely won't give up without a fight.
