Basketball Game Preview: Mercy Culture Prep Royals vs. Sacred Heart Tigers

The Mercy Culture Prep Royals will head out to face off against the Sacred Heart Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sacred Heart took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mercy Culture Prep, who comes in off a win.

Mercy Culture Prep can't be too worried about heading out to take on Sacred Heart: they just beat Victory Baptist Academy at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Mercy Culture Prep had just enough and edged Victory Baptist Academy out 55-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royals.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-35, which was the final score in Sacred Heart's tilt against Victory Christian Academy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1305th, while the Patriots are ranked 590th).

Sacred Heart dropped their record down to 8-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Mercy Culture Prep, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.

Mercy Culture Prep skirted past Sacred Heart 49-47 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mercy Culture Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
