Soccer Recap: Coal City Starts Season with Win on the Road

Coal City had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Reed-Custer Comets get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Coalers in their matchups with the Comets: they've now won five in a row.

Nettie Connor and Hayden Francisco scored both of Coal City's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Coming up, Coal City will be playing in front of their home fans against Beecher at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reed-Custer, they have already played their next matchup, a 4-1 win against Ottawa on the 18th.
