It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carthage had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 63-35 win over the Sanger Indians. The Bulldogs' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Kj Edwards had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 185 yards and four scores on only six carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jett Surratt, who threw for 201 yards and four TDs while completing 90% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Carthage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 348 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jd Edwrads, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Sanger still got an impressive performance from Reginald Jones, who rushed for 246 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Jones is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 120 every time he's taken the field this season. Joel Rodriguez also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.

Carthage's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Sanger, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Carthage wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-20 victory against Pleasant Grove on the 28th. Sanger does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
