League recap: Loris tops Marion to extend winning streak

AA Region VIII recap October 8, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in AA Region VIII this week, Loris beat Marion 55-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

The Swamp Foxes fell to Loris 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Jamie Snider's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bennett Winslow threw for 137 and 1 touchdown and Ryan Bellamy had 83 yards receiving. On the ground Levi Moody contributed 62 yards. Dezmond Dozier helped Loris' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 34 yards.

Moody was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 62 yards on 9 carries as the Lions topped Marion. Charoldric Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 25 yards on the ground.

Loris' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Winslow has thrown for 666 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Bellamy has 14 catches for 258 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Loris takes on second place Waccamaw.
