Basketball Recap: Marie Philip Drops Highest Score of Season Against American School for the Deaf + How To Watch

Marie Philip scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 52-36 to the American School for the Deaf Tigers. The Galloping Ghosts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Despite the defeat, Marie Philip saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Luis Ortiz-Gonzalez almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ortiz-Gonzalez has scored all season. Andrew Bakhit also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

Marie Philip is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for American School for the Deaf, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

The Galloping Ghosts will host Rhode Island School for the Deaf at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on January 27, 2026.
