Oxford extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Oxford Chargers vs. Woodward Academy War Eagles

After flying high against the Horn Lake Eagles on Tuesday, the Oxford Chargers came back down to earth. Oxford was beaten by Woodward Academy 75-39 on Thursday. Oxford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodward Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kameron Herring, who scored 18 points along with five steals. The matchup was Herring's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kayla Whitner, who scored 12 points along with five steals.

Oxford bumped their record down to 5-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Woodward Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Oxford won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Horizons Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 15th. Woodward Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tri-Cities at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Tri-Cities is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
