Baseball Recap: Granite Bay Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Granite Bay ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Oak Ridge Trojans 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.

Cole Griffin looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Jones, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Uhler, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Granite Bay's record is now 14-8. As for Oak Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

Granite Bay has already played their next game, an 11-1 win against Davis Sr. on the 24th. Hopefully Oak Ridge paid attention to the Grizzlies' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Grizzlies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
