Softball Recap: Bloom Takes a Loss

Bloom fell victim to Wilmington and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 14-0 to the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blazing Trojan have suffered since April 15th.

This is the second loss in a row for Bloom and nudges their season record down to 12-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-8 Kankakee (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.1% over those games). As for Wilmington, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloom will head out to face off against Kankakee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blazing Trojan will need to watch out since the Kays have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests. As for Wilmington, they are taking a road trip to take on Morris at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.1, the Redskins 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
