Basketball Recap: Kendrick Comes Up Short

Kendrick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Carver Tigers, falling 68-16. The Cherokees lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in January of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 73-44 score last time.

Carver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Robinson led the charge by going 5 for 7 on her way to 10 points. The dominant performance also gave Robinson a new career-high in rebounds (four). Armani West was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Kendrick's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Carver, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Kendrick has already played their next match, a 76-14 defeat against Sumter County on the 31st. As for Carver, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-46 win against Spencer on the 31st.
