Basketball Recap: Jack Batten and Charles Ivory Secure Win for Streetsboro

Streetsboro won the last time they faced Cloverleaf and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Streetsboro Rockets walked away with a 53-42 win over the Cloverleaf Colts. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Colts are ranked 506th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Streetsboro to victory were Charles Ivory and Jack Batten. Ivory posted 12 points along with eight assists and six boards, while Batten went 6 of 14 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Ivory a new career-high in blocks (four). Jackson Gula was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Streetsboro's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Cloverleaf, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Streetsboro will square off against Coventry at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. As for Cloverleaf, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Max S. Hayes at 7:00 p.m.
