After losing to Mount Vernon the last time they met, Lakewood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lakewood Cougars escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Mount Vernon Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Lakewood has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Mount Vernon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Lakewood won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marysville Getchell at 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakewood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Marysville Getchell likes a good challenge. As for Mount Vernon, they will challenge Ferndale at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
