The Logansport Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Captain Shreve Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Logansport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Logansport made easy work of Ebarb and carried off a 9-3 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kennedi Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Logansport let Abbie Kate Forrest and Anna Atkins run wild. Forrest scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Atkins scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Atkins has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marianna Roberts, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Logansport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Captain Shreve waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 6-2.
Ella Hendrick was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedi Dixon, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Anna Grace Stier was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Logansport's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Captain Shreve, their record is now 20-13.
Everything went Logansport's way against Captain Shreve in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Logansport made off with a 20-5 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
