Softball Recap: Schalmont Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Schalmont extended their winning streak to eight on Monday, bumping them up to 14-4. Everything went their way against the Lansingburgh Knights as they made off with a 13-1 win. Considering the Sabres have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Milania Tebano and Anna Homer made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Tebano tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Homer tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Tebano went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Homer earned two runs and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Tebano has hit this season.

In other batting news, Layla Williams and Caitlyn Alderdice did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Alderdice went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Alderdice has posted since back in April. Brooke Howlan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

As for Lansingburgh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

On Lansingburgh's side, Taylor Moran was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.
