Softball Game Preview: Rudder Rangers vs. A&M Consolidated Tigers

Rudder hasn't had much luck against A&M Consolidated recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Rudder will look to defend their home field against A&M Consolidated at 6:30 p.m.

Rudder is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Huntsville.

Rylee Puente put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Destini Mack was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kiley Newland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, A&M Consolidated made easy work of Huntsville on Tuesday and carried off a 15-2 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

A&M Consolidated's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-5. As for Rudder, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
