Softball Recap: Concord Triumphs

After losing to Wheeler the last time they met, Concord decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Minutemen walked away with a 9-6 win over the Bearcats on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Minutemen.

Serina Masuth and Laela Moore did most of the damage at the plate: Masuth went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double, while Moore went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Masuth a new career-high. Kendall Hodge was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Concord's record is now 9-13. As for Wheeler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

Coming up, Concord will welcome Warsaw at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wheeler, they will venture away from home to square off against River Forest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Ingots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.88 runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
