The Holy Family Tigers will face off against the Horizon Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Holy Family, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Holy Family turned things around against Silver Creek on Friday. They walked away with a 58-48 victory over the Raptors. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Raptors are ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alexcia Oaxaca had a dynamite game for Holy Family, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Oaxaca has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Ward, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds.
Holy Family smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Horizon challenged Broomfield on Friday. Horizon took a hard 59-41 fall against Broomfield. The Hawks were down 51-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Holy Family will need focus on slowing down Bella Alvarado, one of several Horizon players who made an impact when they last played. She scored 16 points. Kaitlin Schumann was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.
Holy Family's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4. As for Horizon, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Holy Family has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.3 boards.
