Baseball Recap: Fleming Comes Up Short

Fleming was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 28th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 23-2 to the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 last Friday.

Seth Bradley was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Aronde Phillips, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Fleming's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Eastern Montgomery, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fleming will host Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Colonels' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Eastern Montgomery, they will face off against Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Rams a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
