Preview: Iowa Colony Pioneers vs. Furr Brahmans
The Iowa Colony Pioneers will take on the Furr Brahmans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Iowa Colony will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
Even though Needville scored an imposing 45 points on Friday, Iowa Colony still came out on top. Iowa Colony secured a 49-45 W over Needville.
Carson White was his usual excellent self, rushing for 181 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 168 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacody Miles, who gained 159 total yards.
Meanwhile, Furr strolled past Kashmere with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 28-12. The win made it back-to-back wins for Furr.
Furr had a senior duo take command as Darrius Garland rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown and Dallas Berry rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Iowa Colony's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Furr, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
