Softball Recap: West Valley Mustangs vs. Temescal Canyon Titans
West Valley had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-6 to make it four. They lost 12-0 to the Temescal Canyon Titans. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.
West Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deonys Ioane, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
As for Temescal Canyon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.
On Temescal Canyon's side, JESSENIA MOORE looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. MOORE has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, BREA TILLERY was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was NIA HALL, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Valley will take on Elsinore at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Temescal Canyon, they will square off against Ganesha at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
