Dunlap and Canton are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Little Giants at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Canton will be up against a hot Dunlap squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Eagles never let Illinois Valley Central get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Parker, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Gabby Drake was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Dunlap was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Illinois Valley Central only posted a batting average of .000.
Canton not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 10-0). They put the hurt on Normal West with a sharp 10-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Little Giants needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Tori Birch made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Canton got a massive performance out of Kambell McDermet, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Makaylynne Correa, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Dunlap pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 17-8.
Dunlap took their win against Canton in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 10-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
