Basketball Recap: Thornton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Perspectives-IIT/Joslin last Tuesday, Thornton came back down to earth. The matchup between the Thornton Wildcats and the Bloom Blazing Trojan didn't end well, with the Thornton Wildcats falling 70-55. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 89th).

Thornton's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Bloom, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-8.

Thornton will challenge Agricultural Science at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Agricultural Science will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Thornton surely won't give up without a fight. Bloom does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
