Recap: Fremont Tigers vs. Papillion-LaVista Monarchs
The Fremont Tigers were the 68-48 winner over the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Fremont had to suffer through a rough 65-27 loss at the hands of Papillion-LaVista. Fremont was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.
Matthea Dalton and Jenna Mcclain certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Dalton dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Mcclain scored 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Fremont struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Papillion-LaVista racked up 17.
Papillion-LaVista can attribute much of their success to Rease Murtaugh, who scored 25 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taliyah Jackson, who scored 10 points.
Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Papillion-LaVista, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Fremont will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln High at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Papillion-LaVista, they will take on Marian at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
