Del Valle has gone 8-2 against Austin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Del Valle Cardinals will welcome the Austin Maroons at 7:30 p.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Del Valle and four for Austin.

On Tuesday, Del Valle didn't have quite enough to beat Akins and fell 63-60.

Meanwhile, Austin lost 61-41 to Lake Travis on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 190th).

Del Valle now has a losing record at 15-16. As for Austin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-22.

Del Valle was able to grind out a solid victory over Austin in their previous matchup back in January, winning 59-48. Will Del Valle repeat their success, or does Austin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
