Basketball Recap: Ruston Bearcats vs. Alexandria Trojans
The Ruston Bearcats were the 66-29 winner over the Alexandria Trojans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Ruston fell 55-46 to the Trojans on Friday.
Alexandria got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chavez Whitehead out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Jaylin Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Ruston's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. As for Alexandria, their victory bumped their record up to 18-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ruston will take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alexandria, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carroll has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 309 points over their last four games.
