Volleyball Game Preview: Betsy Layne Bobcats vs. Paintsville Tigers

Betsy Layne is 0-10 against Paintsville since October of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bobcats on Wednesday. Betsy Layne fell just short of Breathitt County by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Paintsville came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Betsy Layne better focus on containing Kendall Short and Bentley Smith as the pair were huge in Paintsville's win. Short had ten digs, while Smith had three digs and two aces. Smith is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Paintsville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in eight consecutive contests.

Betsy Layne's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Paintsville, their victory bumped their record up to 23-10.
