The BASIS Red Giants will take on Sojourner Truth Montessori in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. BASIS is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.

BASIS is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Richard Wright Public Charter School 79-45 on Tuesday. The Red Giants haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

BASIS had a senior duo take command as Timothy Chamberlain II dropped a double-double with 28 points and 12 boards and Dylan Smith shot 64% from the field on his way to 23 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. That makes it six consecutive games in which Chamberlain II has scored at least a third of the Red Giants' points. Jayson Parker was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

BASIS smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Sojourner Truth Montessori sidestepped Washington Latin Public Charter School for a 42-40 victory.

The win got BASIS back to even at 3-3. As for Sojourner Truth Montessori, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
