Ottawa and Sycamore are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. The Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ottawa is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Ottawa came up short against LaSalle-Peru and fell 2-0.

Ottawa may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 18 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Sycamore didn't have quite enough to beat Kaneland on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Sycamore sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 16-25, 25-23.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Ottawa, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12-2.

Ottawa beat Sycamore 2-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
