Softball Recap: Cooper Takes a Loss

After flying high against Memorial last Tuesday, Cooper came back down to earth. Cooper fell just short of the Coahoma Bulldogs by a score of 7-6 on Friday.

Cooper saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angelic Gonzalez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Cooper dropped their record down to 12-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Coahoma, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 18-0-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cooper will host Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooper is facing Legacy at the right time seeing as Legacy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Coahoma, they will be playing at home against Stanton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coahoma's pitchers better be ready for this one: Stanton has averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
