Randolph-Clay's loss ends five-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Randolph-Clay Red Devils vs. Seminole County Indians

The Randolph-Clay Red Devils fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Seminole County Indians on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Indians. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Randolph-Clay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaleen Gibson, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Gibson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. NyQuavious White was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Randolph-Clay's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Seminole County, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Randolph-Clay and Pataula Charter Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pataula Charter Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while Randolph-Clay is ranked 191st). As for Seminole County, they will head out on the road to face off against Terrell County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
