Football Recap: Roswell Hornets vs. Lanier Longhorns        
        
		
             Roswell had won four straight  games  and  Trey Smith did his part to make it five on Friday. The Roswell Hornets strolled past the Lanier Longhorns with  points to spare, taking the game  59-42 thanks in part to  Smith, who rushed for 195 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 Smith was just one part of a punishing run game: Roswell was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 339  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Roswell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Ian Foust and  Nytrevain Davenport.
 When it comes to explaining why Lanier lost, don't look at  Tojuan Peyton Jr.. Despite the final result, he rushed for 421 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.6 yards per carry. Peyton Jr. really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 85-yard run.
 Roswell's win was  their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Lanier, they now  have a losing record at 4-5.
 Roswell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  48-45  victory against Gainesville on the 25th. As for Lanier, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Seckinger at 7:30  p.m.  on November 1st. Lanier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.6  points per game  this season.
