Baseball Recap: Hagerty Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Hagerty is still undefeated this season after their match against Creekside on Friday, but Creekside came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Hagerty Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Creekside Knights, sneaking past 2-0.

I. Torres looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hagerty's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was B. Levy, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Keltan Fitzgerald also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Hagerty pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Creekside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Coming up, Hagerty will host Oviedo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Oviedo: 3.8, Hagerty: 1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Creekside, they will head out on the road to challenge Spruce Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce Creek will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Creekside surely won't give up without a fight.
