Volleyball Recap: Wayzata Takes Down Ranked Sauk Rapids-Rice

Wayzata faced Sauk Rapids-Rice in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Storm 2-1.

Wayzata had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Wayzata's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, with the defeat, they broke their ten-match winning streak and moved their record to 18-2.

Wayzata didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against River Falls on the 11th. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Pequot Lakes on the 11th.
