It was a good run, but Norfolk Collegiate unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Catholic Crusaders. The Mighty Oaks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Norfolk Collegiate lost, don't look at Justin Burrough. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points in addition to eight boards and four blocks. Burrough has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Mills, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points.

Norfolk Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Norfolk Collegiate will be playing in front of their home fans against Cape Henry Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Norfolk Collegiate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season. As for Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against Steward at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
