Baseball Game Preview: Cherokee County Warriors vs. Alexandria Valley Cubs

The Cherokee County Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Alexandria Valley Cubs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

If Cherokee County beats Alexandria with 11 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Warriors beat White Plains on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-3. Considering the Warriors have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Tittle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Cherokee County got a big performance out of Aiden Bobbitt, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nate Black, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Alexandria came up short against Pell City on Saturday, falling 12-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Valley Cubs in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Cherokee County's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-10-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Alexandria, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Cherokee County suffered a grim 14-7 defeat to Alexandria when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
