Soccer Game Preview: Lenoir City vs. South-Doyle

The Lenoir City Panthers will take on the South-Doyle Cherokees at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lenoir City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Walker Valley on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, South-Doyle waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tornadoes a 6-0 shutout. Considering South-Doyle have won eight matches by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Alcoa from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Cameron Harp led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

South-Doyle's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those five contests. As for Lenoir City, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-2.
