Softball Game Preview: Dawson Bulldogs vs. Axtell Longhorns

For the second straight game, Dawson will face off against Axtell. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Dawson has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Dawson wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Tattum Hill was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and one double. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Boatright, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Axtell is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Dawson, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
