Sandusky took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Perkins, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Streaks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pirates 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Streaks, who have now won three matches in a row.
Kaylee Summers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maijon Wiley was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Popke, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Perkins, they will welcome Bellevue at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
