Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were dealt a 103-10 defeat at the hands of the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 92nd).

Gwynn Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maya Pitts, who posted 24 points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Mason, who put up 22 points.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Gwynn Park, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 78-7 defeat against Oxon Hill on the 6th. As for Gwynn Park, they have also already played their next contest, a 76-35 victory against Friendly on the 6th.
