Volleyball Recap: Girard Yellowjackets vs. Slippery Rock Rockets
Girard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Slippery Rock Rockets.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14.
CJ Sabo was the offensive standout of the contest as she had five aces, four kills, and a block. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in aces.
Girard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Slippery Rock, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Girard will face off against Mercyhurst Prep at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Slippery Rock, they will head out to challenge Oil City at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Slippery Rock is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
